The Food and Drug Administration, or FDA is responsible for the protection of public health by passing a certification of safety, efficiency and security of both human and veterinary drugs, biological products and medical devices.

Their work contributes to helping to make advancements in beneficial medical products to provide safer and more affordable equipment as well as ensuring the safety, efficiency and security of each product approved.

What does FDA approved mean?

FDA approved AEDs are defibrillators which have been approved by The Food and Drug Administration and has passed the premarket approval application submitted to the FDA.

This means that the particular products shown below, have undergone further safety and security to promise efficiency in an emergency situation. Whilst this does not mean that these AEDs are any more capable of saving a life, it does mean it has the FDA promise that it has undergone research and testing to ensure it works exactly as it should and will provide an effective rescue should it need to be used.
