How will I know when to deliver a shock using the Philips Heartstart FRx?
The Philips Heartstart FRx is an ideal defibrillator for those with little or no medical experience. It tells you exactly what to do and when to do it. The AED will provide voice commands and flashing icons to help if needed. To deliver a shock, place the pads on bare skin as shown in the placement diagram and press the orange shock button when instructed.

An IP code is an international code that represents a product's protection levels against the intrusion of solid objects and liquids.
The Philips Hearstart FRx defibrillator has a rating of IP55. This enables protection against a limited amount of dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction. It is designed for use in harsh settings and can withstand up to 500 kg (1,100 lbs) and drops from 1.2 m (4 ft).
Does the Philips Heartstart FRx defibrillator need a lot of maintenance?
The HeartStart FRx defibrillator is easy to use and maintain. The FRx runs a series of automatic self-tests, including daily, weekly, and monthly self-tests, to assess pad readiness and confirm the functionality and calibration of circuits and components.
Can the Philips Heartstart FRx - Exclusive Starter Kit be used on adults and children?
With the HeartStart FRx's optional Infant/Child Key, you can change the shock intensity without special pads or adapters to provide pad placement and CPR instructions appropriate for children.
