Established since 2001, Korean medical company, CU Medical Systems have become a defibrillator specialist involved in the research, developing and manufacturing of defibrillators.
CU Medical Systems are known for the development of their I-PAD defibrillator range. Equipped with clear images, the I-PAD devices guide both trained and untrained responders to deliver effective treatment with confidence.
Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) does not discriminate, striking anyone at any time or place and without any prior symptoms or warnings. Delivering treatment within 3-5 minutes of the victim collapsing increases their survival chance up to 74%. Delaying treatment decreases the chance of survival by 10% for every minute that goes by without treatment.
Why do electrode pads need replacing?
Depending on the make and model of your defibrillator, electrode pads have a shelf life ranging from 1-5 years.
The gel covering the pads are likely to be ineffective in adhering to the skin to analyse the heart and deliver a shock if one is required beyond the expiration date.
Why does a defibrillator need a replacement battery?
Batteries have a shelf life of 2-7 years. This is dependent on the make and model of your defibrillator.
Batteries enable the unit in carrying out regular self-tests to ensure your defibrillator remains in working order. Batteries also provide the power needed to deliver a potentially life-saving shock if one is required.

Do CU Medical Systems offer rechargeable batteries?
Yes, defibshop stock rechargeable battery for use with the iPAD SP2 defibrillator. This battery can provide enough power for up to 70 lifesaving shocks or 3 hours worth of operation time.
What is SMART electrode pad technology?
SMART electrode pads can be used on both adults and children during an emergency and the shock will change depending on what is suitable for the patient’s needs. The electrode pads are protected in foil packaging to ensure they are kept clean and secure prior to use. They are pre-connected by design, meaning valuable time is saved in an emergency.
Do CU Medical Systems provide training options?
Yes, at defibshop we stock electrode pads that are designed to be used on a iPAD SP1 Training Unit. The training pads can be used more than once, unlike the live version of these pads, reducing the cost of training equipment. Similar to the live versions, the iPAD SP1 training pads are packaged in protective foil packets and designed similarly so the trainee will be fully prepared in case of an emergency.
What is the benefit of using SMART electrode pad technology?
As SMART pads can be used on both adults and children, there is no need to buy paediatric pads. By switching modes the shocks will alter depending on the patient’s needs, SMART technology is cost-saving for the user and will not have a hindrance on the treatment the patient needs, the defibrillator will perform exactly the same.
