The adapter is a long, thin, metallic strip which, when training electrode pads are applied, represents the electric current passing through the body of a cardiac arrest patient. This allows learners to see how a defibrillator operates in a life saving situation after the shock has been delievered.

About the Manufacturer
Moved by the story of a young girl from Paris, who drowned at the turn of the 19th Century, Asmund S Laerdal used the ‘death mask’ which was taken of the girl (as was the custom back then) to create the manikin face mask that we know today.
The young girl’s beauty and ethereal smile motivated Asmund, as he was convinced that if such a manikin was life-sized, students would be better motivated to learn this lifesaving procedure.
