Connected defibrillators connect to bespoke program management software, enabling owners to remotely monitor the readiness of the device. The program management software reports on aspects including electrode pad and battery life and self-test results.
Treatment delivery is reliant on the defibrillator being in a ready-to-use condition. Delivering treatment within 3-5 minutes after the victim has collapsed significantly increases their survival chance from 6% to 74%. Delaying treatment leads to a decrease in chance of survival by 10% per minute.
