Are electrode pads included with the Physio-Control Lifepak CR2 USB Semi-Automatic?
Yes, the Physio-Control Lifepak CR2 USB Semi-Automatic Defibrillator includes pads suitable for adults and children. The pads have a four-year shelf life and must be renewed after that point. If you use the pads to treat someone in SCA, you must dispose of the pads correctly. The pads are single-use only; if used in a rescue, you will need to purchase replacement ones.
What are the features of the Physio-Control Lifepak CR2 USB Semi-Automatic Defibrillator?
The Physio-Control Lifepak CR2 USB Semi-Automatic Defibrillator is an excellent device for delivering treatment to someone in Sudden Cardiac Arrest. The device is small and compact, weighing only 2 kg with dimensions of 9.7 x 22.6 x 27.4 cm. The design is lightweight and portable, making it easy to transport to a casualty in the event of a cardiac arrest. When attempting to rescue someone from SCA, time is of the essence, and having a portable device will help limit time waste.
The device is semi-automatic, meaning it needs more input from the user to carry out the life-saving treatment. By following the clear voice prompts from the defibrillator, any user can feel confident in tending to someone in Sudden Cardiac Arrest. The built-in CPR coach helps users deliver the best treatment possible, feeding back on technique.
The device undergoes daily, weekly, and monthly self-tests to check that all components are functioning properly. It ensures that the device remains ready to be called upon in the event of an emergency.
When would I use the defibrillator?
Defibrillators are used to deliver an electrical shock to someone in Sudden Cardiac Arrest; the person will be unresponsive and unconscious. A SCA does not discriminate against age, health, gender or ethnicity and can happen anytime. Whether at work or home, resting or on the move, having a defibrillator nearby could be the difference between life and death.
Do I need training to operate a defibrillator?
No, you do not require training to operate a defibrillator and deliver potentially life-saving treatment. Thanks to the simplistic design, both semi- and fully-automatic defibrillators can be used by trained or untrained responders. Training may provide users with more confidence; however, it is not necessary for the successful operation of the device.
We offer several courses through our accredited partner, Imperative Training, if you want to undergo training. They offer a broad spectrum of courses, including how to respond to someone in Sudden Cardiac Arrest. If you would like to find out more about what training courses are available, visit our training page https://www.defibshop.co.uk/training-courses
