We know there are a lot of defibrillators out there. Finding the right one for you can be a bit of a pain, but between our buyers guide and our categories, we think we have simplified the search for you.

Deciding factors

When you’re looking at a defibrillator there are a few important factors which need to be taken on board before you make the decision to purchase a unit.

The first is that all defibrillator units have an IP rating attached to them. This indicates how protected the units are against dust and water, and they are graded from 0-5, with 5 being the most protected.

Therefore as an example, if you work in a leisure centre with a swimming pool and are looking to have a defibrillator on site, you would need to make sure the unit you choose scores highly with water resistance.

Second, when choosing a defibrillator, you may need to switch the unit from adult to paediatric. If you’re buying a defibrillator for a school or nursery, you may want to have a unit handy that is able to switch to paediatric settings quickly and hassle free.

This is something our defibshop team of experts can help you with.
