How frequently should the CU-SPR Semi-Automatic defibrillator be inspected?
The CU-SPR Semi-Automatic defibrillator conducts daily self-tests to verify its operational readiness and functionality, including checking pad and battery status. These automated checks ensure the defibrillator is always prepared for immediate emergencies. If any issues occur, the defibrillator will notify you on the status display.
In addition to these automated checks, consider the following routine inspections:
- Checking Expiry Dates of Batteries and Pads: Batteries and pads have expiry dates. Sign up for our free battery and pad reminder service to alert you when it's time for replacement, so you’re never without adequate power.
- Visual Inspections: Perform a weekly inspection of the defibrillator, ensuring it is free from damage.
- Scheduling an Annual Service: Book an Annual AED Service for a comprehensive check and calibration certification of your defibrillator.
Do I need prior training to use the CU-SPR Semi-Automatic defibrillator?
No training is required to use the CU-SPR Semi-Automatic defibrillator. At each stage of the rescue process, the defibrillator guides the responder with voice prompts and clear instructions. This includes pad application, performing CPR, and alerting shock delivery. With an ambient noise detector, the CU-SPR Semi-Automatic defibrillator automatically adjusts the volume to the environment. These integrated voice prompts and LED indicators guide the responders through the operation.
What is the iPAD CU-SPR Carry Case used for?
The iPAD CU-SPR Carry Case is designed for use with the iPAD CU-SPR AED. This case features a display for the device’s status indicator and a large heart symbol to illustrate the contents of the case. Exposure to the elements and temperature changes can cause mechanical damage. Carry cases provide additional protection, particularly during transportation, extending the longevity of the defibrillator.
Can the CU-SPR Semi-Automatic defibrillator be used on both adults and children?
Yes, the CU-SPR Semi-Automatic defibrillator can be used on both adult and paediatric casualties. It includes an adjustable adult/paediatric switch, so responders can easily decrease the joule output for paediatric casualties. This saves vital time when responding to Sudden Cardiac Arrest. For guidance, the ‘Child’ mode should be selected for casualties younger than 8 years old and weighing less than 25kg. Select ‘Adult’ mode for casualties older than 8 years old and weighing more than 25kg.
