What is the CU Medical Systems iPAD CU-SPR Adult/Paediatric Electrode Pads (1 set)?

The CU Medical Systems iPAD CU-SPR Adult/Paediatric Electrode Pads are electrode pads for the iPAD CU-SPR defibrillator. These pre-connected pads use SMART electrode pad technology, allowing them to be used on adults and children. Since these pads are pre-connected, they save vital time during Sudden Cardiac Arrest. Once correctly applied to the casualty, the iPAD CU-SPR Adult/Paediatric Electrode pads allow the defibrillator to assess heart rhythm and, if necessary, deliver a shock.

How do I apply the CU Medical Systems iPAD CU-SPR Adult/Paediatric Electrode Pads on women and male casualties?

To apply the CU Medical Systems iPAD CU-SPR Adult/Paediatric Electrode Pads, start by removing them from their protective foil packaging. The adhesive material can dry out quickly once exposed, so apply them immediately to the casualty after opening.

  • Male: Shave the chest area if needed and move clothing aside. Place one pad on the upper right side of the chest and the second on the lower left side.
  • Female: Ensure clothing is moved aside to expose the chest fully. If needed, adjust placement to avoid breast tissue, placing one pad on the upper right side of the chest and the second on the lower left side.

Continue the prompts as guided by the iPAD CU-SPR until emergency services arrive.

Can I use the CU Medical Systems iPAD CU-SPR Adult/Paediatric Electrode Pads on adults and children?

Yes, the CU Medical Systems iPAD CU-SPR Adult/Paediatric Electrode Pads can be used on adults and children. Using SMART technology, these pads are compatible with the iPAD CU-SPR defibrillator once switched to the correct mode. For casualties aged over 8 years or weighing more than 25kg, set the defibrillator to ‘Adult Mode.’ For those under 8 years old or weighing less than 25kg, switch to ‘Child Mode’ to ensure appropriate treatment.

How long do the CU Medical Systems iPAD CU-SPR Adult/Paediatric Electrode Pads last?

The CU Medical Systems iPAD CU-SPR Adult/Paediatric Electrode Pads have a shelf life of between 24 and 36 months, equivalent to 3 years. It’s important to regularly check the expiration date printed on the packaging to keep your defibrillator ready for use at all times.

Expired pads may not perform reliably, which can impact the defibrillator’s ability to deliver an effective shock. Electrode pads are designed for single use and must be replaced after each use, regardless of whether a shock was delivered. For these reasons, we always recommend keeping a spare set of pads on hand.
