The battery has a 5 year lifespan, and when the unit is in standby mode and at operable temperatures, will carry out daily, weekly and monthly self tests to ensure that it is always rescue ready.

How to use
After the battery pack has been clipped to the back of the defibrillator and the unit is set to the standby mode, it will begin to regularly check the device to ensure that the AED is always rescue ready at all times.
The defibrillator will check the subsystems, hardware, software and the electrode pads to ensure that all the essential pieces of the unit are working correctly. This gives the user peace of mind that the defibrillator can be left unattended for long periods and still be ready to help save a life when the time comes.

What defibrillator is the CU Medical iPAD CU-SPR Disposable Li-ion Battery designed for?
The CU Medical iPAD CU-SPR Disposable Li-on Battery is designed for use with the iPAD CU-SPR Semi-Automatic defibrillator. This disposable battery provides an essential power supply, ensuring the defibrillator can always deliver a lifesaving shock during Sudden Cardiac Arrest. Without an adequate power supply, the defibrillator's performance is compromised, making a reliable battery crucial.
How do I install the CU Medical iPAD CU-SPR Disposable Li-ion Battery?
To install the CU Medical iPAD CU-SPR Disposable Li-ion Battery, clip the battery onto the defibrillator unit and ensure the device is set to standby mode. Once the battery pack is inserted, a beep sound will follow for 1 second and the power button will flash in green. The defibrillator unit will then automatically conduct a self-check. Allow the defibrillator to complete the test, then verify the status indicator to confirm the battery’s functionality. Before installation, always check the battery’s expiry date to maintain optimal defibrillator readiness.
What is the lifespan of the CU Medical iPAD CU-SPR Disposable Li-ion Battery?
The CU Medical iPAD CU-SPR Disposable Li-ion Battery has a 5-year lifespan and can deliver a minimum of 200 shocks, equivalent to 150 joules. Since the battery is disposable, it does not require recharging. After installation, it is ready for use immediately. As long as the battery passes regular defibrillator self-tests, it continues to provide crucial function during Sudden Cardiac Arrest.
How will I know if the CU Medical iPAD CU-SPR Disposable Li-ion Battery needs replacing?
The CU Medical iPAD CU-SPR Disposable Li-on Battery is designed to last up to 5 years and provides a minimum of 200 shocks (at 150J) or 8 hours of operating time. The battery will need replacing if it fails the defibrillator self-tests and is past its expiry date.
The iPAD CU-SPR runs a self-test every time you turn the defibrillator on, as well as weekly and monthly self-tests. During these checks, the defibrillator monitors the pad, battery life, and device functionality. If the defibrillator detects an issue with the batteries, the status indicator will display a flashing light. These self-checks should not replace routine maintenance, including regularly checking the battery’s expiry date and ensuring you have a replacement battery at all times.
