What is the lifespan of the Philips Heartstart FRx AED?
Durable and rugged in design, the Philips Heartstart FRx defibrillator comes with an eight-year manufacturer warranty. Internal components such as the battery and SMART II defibrillator pads will need to be replaced. The non-rechargeable battery offers a lifespan of four years, and the electrode pads have a two-year lifespan but must be replaced after every use. Replacing these parts promptly once they expire is vital in ensuring your Philips Heartstart FRx is always ready for response.
What makes the Philips Heartstart FRx different from other defibrillators?
The Philips Heartstart FRx can conveniently be adapted for use on children under 8 years old (or less than 55lbs) by inserting the optional Child/Infant key. This reduces the energy level accordingly without the need to swap adult defibrillator pads for specific Child/Infant ones.
Can the Philips Heartstart FRx be used on children?
Yes. When using the Philips Heartstart FRx on children under 8 years old (or under 55lbs), you can insert a child/infant key (purchased separately). Once inserted, the AED will automatically adjust the energy level of the shock, while modifying CPR guidance specifically for a child/infant casualty. This makes the Philips Heartstart FRx ideal for use on both adults and children, saving time in an emergency and making it more user friendly for both trained and untrained responders to use.
How long does the Philips Heartstart FRx battery last?
The Philips Heartstart FRx comes with a non-rechargeable battery pack. This offers a four-year lifespan, after this timeframe they will need to be replaced. Doing so is vital to ensure your Philips Heartstart FRx remains in working condition.
Is the Philips Heartstart FRx Semi-Automatic Defibrillator waterproof?
Yes. The Philips Heartstart FRx Semi-Automatic Defibrillator comes with an IP55 rating. This means it is protected from both dust and water (or low-pressure jets specifically), making it ideal for use in more mixed or rugged environments such as outdoor areas. To protect your AED, make sure it does not come into direct contact with water, as it is only protected from limited water ingress.
