How are the Philips FR2 Adult Defibrillation Pads properly secured on the patient?

The Philips FR2 Adult Defibrillation Pads are designed to be easy to use and place on the patient. First, to secure the pads on the patient’s chest, remove them from their protective packaging and peel off the protective liner to expose the adhesive gel. Place one pad on the upper right chest and the other on the lower left side. You can use the diagrams on the pads and defibrillator to ensure correct positioning. Press the pads firmly onto the skin to ensure they don’t move during treatment.

Do the Philips FR2 Adult Defibrillation Pads need to be replaced?

The Philips FR2 Adult Defibrillation Pads have a shelf life of up to two years, the expiration date is on the back of the packet. Once the pads have been used, they should be replaced. You should regularly check your defibrillation pads for any signs of damage and replace them if necessary. It is a good idea to purchase a spare set of pads in case your primary set becomes unfit for use.

Can the Philips FR2 Adult Defibrillation Pads be reused?

No, the Philips FR2 Adult Defibrillation Pads are single-use defibrillation pads designed for use with the Philips FR2 AED. After use, they should be disposed of depending on their condition. If your pads have been used in response to a Sudden Cardiac Arrest, you should dispose of them as medical waste. Otherwise, if your pads are expired but unused, you can dispose of them with regular waste but make sure you cut the electrode wires to prevent reuse.

Are the Philips FR2 Adult Defibrillation Pads suitable for every patient?

No, the Philips FR2 Adult Defibrillation Pads are not suitable for everyone. They are designed for individuals aged 8 and over who weigh more than 25 kg. If the patient in need of treatment is less than 8 years old and weighs less than 25 kg, the Philips FR2 Paediatric Electrode Pads should be used, which you can purchase on defibshop.
