Environmental Impact

In 2023 we are committed to formalising our own impact on the environment and working with our suppliers to ensure Scopes 1, 2 and 3 are covered.
We take our impact on the environment seriously. Since 2009 we have been, and continue to, retain our ISO14001 accreditation showing our commitment to the environment and a more efficient, conscious use of earths resources. This is not a legal requirement, but helps us adhere to laws and environmental regulations.
We are currently working on our Carbon Footprint and will have a full report available when the process is complete. We are then committed to our reduction targets year on year. We know our biggest contributors at present are:
Energy
- We are on a green tariff with our energy supplier
- We have installed a new, more efficient boiler in our offices
- Our heating is on a timer
- We do not have air conditioning in our offices
- We do not have water coolers
- We turn off monitors at the end of every working day
- We turn off lights at the end of every working day
- We do not send out of office emails internally so reducing data storage space
Fuel
- 75% of staff come from within a 15 minute radius of the office
- We operate a hybrid working system
- We encourage car sharing where possible
Shipping/deliveries
- Our couriers are switching to electric vehicles
- 95% of our packaging is recycled and recyclable. We are continuing to work on becoming 100%.
- We reuse any packaging that comes into us where possible
Other areas we are working on
- We encourage end of life units to be returned for us to reuse, recycle or repurpose
- We are working with MMU to look at the impact of our website and what elements we could change without detracting from the overall user experience
- We have recycle bins in the kitchen and recycle our waste
- We recycle or repurpose old IT equipment
To calculate our carbon status we are working with Positive Planet to measure our emissions and help us set a reduction plan.
