Which models is the Cardiac Science Powerheart G5 battery suitable for?
The Cardiac Science Powerheart G5 battery is suitable for the Cardiac Science Powerheart G5 defibrillator. It must not be used with other defibrillator models, as this presents a risk of operational malfunction in an emergency.
How long does the Cardiac Science Powerheart G5 battery last?
A new Cardiac Science Powerheart G5 battery comes with a 5-year shelf life, with a 4-year standby life once installed in your Powerheart G5 defibrillator. It’s important to replace it before it reaches the end of this period to ensure plenty of time to receive and install your new battery. This helps avoid gaps in availability, ensuring your Powerheart G5 is always ready to respond in an emergency.
Is the Cardiac Science Powerheart G5 battery rechargeable?
No. The Cardiac Science Powerheart G5 battery is a non-rechargeable battery that offers a service length of up to 4 years once installed. Once the capacity depletes or the battery is approaching expiration, it needs to be replaced to ensure continued operational readiness for an emergency.
How do I insert the Cardiac Science Powerheart G5 battery in my defibrillator?
To insert the Cardiac Science Powerheart G5 battery, open the battery compartment on the back of your device. Remove the old battery and insert the new one until it clicks into place. Close the compartment and check the readiness indicator glows green, confirming the battery is correctly inserted and that the defibrillator is ready for use.
How can I maximise the lifespan of my Cardiac Science Powerheart G5 battery?
There are a few ways you can maximise the lifespan of your Cardiac Science Powerheart G5’s battery:
- Store your defibrillator correctly – using an outdoor defibrillator storage cabinet if stored outside to protect your battery and other internal components from extreme temperatures.
- Avoid triggering frequent self-tests – your defibrillator does these already on a regular basis. Each time you remove/replace the battery to trigger a self test, this uses more battery capacity.
- Arrange annual servicing – this is especially important if your Powerheart G5 is used in a real emergency, checking the battery health to confirm it continues to work optimally.
