Prepare the casualty - remove clothing from the chest area using scissors to cut if needed. Ensure the skin is clean and dry so the pads adhere fully.
Apply the pads - refer to the images on the pad packaging to position the pads correctly on the chest. For adults, both pads are positioned on the chest, while for children, place one in the front centre of the chest and one in the middle of the back.
Wait for analysis - after applying the pads, make sure you are not touching the casualty or performing CPR at this time to facilitate accurate heart monitoring. Your Physio Control defibrillator advises whether a shock is needed once the analysis is complete.
