What is the Brayden Pro Manikin?

The Brayden Pro Manikin is the most advanced model in the Brayden CPR training range. It provides real-time feedback to help learners understand the quality and effectiveness of chest compressions. By visualising blood flow and compression depth, the Brayden Pro supports a more interactive and educational training experience for responders at all levels.

What features are included with the Brayden Pro Manikin?

The Brayden Pro Manikin includes a range of features to enable a realistic training session, including:

  • Blood circulation, CPR quality, and compression indication lights
  • An anatomically correct design with landmarks to guide hand positioning
  • Disposable lungs to simulate chest rise in response to effective CPR
  • Head tilt/chin lift function allows learners to practice opening the airways
  • Nose pinch to support the practice of CPR with rescue breathing
  • Bluetooth connectivity with Android devices through the Brayden training app

Combining lifelike design with data-driven feedback, the Brayden Pro Manikin helps responders build confidence and competence in delivering high-quality CPR.

How do I maintain the Brayden Pro Manikin in between training sessions?

To keep your Brayden Pro Manikin in optimal condition regular maintenance is advised. After each training session:

  • Replace the disposable lungs to prepare the manikin for its next use
  • Clean exterior surfaces, including key touchpoints such as the chest and mouth, to prevent a buildup of dirt or bacteria.
  • Use either manikin wipes or a mild soap and water for cleaning, ensuring the manikin is never submerged in water.

If you choose to power your manikin using batteries instead of an AC mains supply, these also need to be replaced once depleted.

How does the Brayden Pro Manikin differ from other Brayden CPR manikins?

The Brayden Pro Manikin comes with more advanced technology to enhance CPR training. Unlike Basic models, the Pro manikin provides real-time CPR feedback through three sets of LED lights which illuminate under the manikin’s skin. These illuminate in response to the effectiveness of CPR, with a weak light prompting learners to adapt their performance to provide the correct depth and rate.

How do I use the Brayden Pro Manikin for a training session?

To use the Brayden Pro Manikin for a training session, follow these steps:

  1. Switch on the manikin at the base. Ensure it is connected under the ‘Bluetooth’ section of your Android phone or tablet in the settings.
  2. Start the training session. Interlock both hands and place the heel of the bottom hand in the centre of the manikin’s chest.
  3. Push down rapidly and firmly approximately 5cm deep, allowing the chest wall to rise in between compressions.
  4. Watch for the LED lights starting to illuminate on the manikin’s chest, head, and neck, or the chest rising for feedback on performance.
  5. Aim for 100-120 chest compressions per minute. If practising rescue breathing, deliver two rescue breaths (blowing slowly and steadily into the manikin’s mouth) for every 30 compressions.
  6. Continue CPR-compression cycles until the lights are fully illuminated, indicating correct blood and oxygen flow, or until the session ends.

After training sessions are completed, more detailed feedback on performance is available on the training app. This allows instructors to pair up to six manikins simultaneously to monitor training progress.
