Heart Attacks - Are you at risk?

Heart Attacks - Are you at risk?

A recent BBC article has highlighted that almost a third of patients in England and Wales are being given the wrong initial diagnosis after suffering a heart attack.

This research also concludes that women have a far greater chance of being affected by this misdiagnosis than men do, at an alarming 50% rate.

An NHS England spokesman said: "Survival rates for heart attacks are the best they have ever been and swift diagnosis and treatment is key to this.” Awareness is at an all time high, but an heightened knowledge of the symptoms are vital in order to help save more lives and help reduce the chances of suffering a heart attack.

Despite survival rates being on the increase, the statistics shared by the article are still far from what we want them to be, so what can we do to help make a difference?
