Haresfinch Rugby Club

Haresfinch Rugby Club, based in St Helens, has a proud history of nurturing local talent and fostering a strong sense of community both on and off the pitch. With players ranging from juniors to seasoned veterans, the club is a central hub for hundreds of families and individuals who share a love of rugby and camaraderie.

Recognising the importance of quick access to lifesaving equipment, defibshop was honoured to provide the club with a fully automatic defibrillator. In the event of a sudden cardiac arrest (SCA), every minute without CPR and defibrillation reduces survival chances by 10%.

Having a defibrillator on site dramatically increases the likelihood of a positive outcome during Sudden Cradiac Arrest (SCA) emergencies — making this donation a vital addition to Haresfinch’s facilities.

Defibrillators are critical in the event of a SCA, as they are the only treatment that can restore a normal heart rhythm. Using a defibrillator within the first few minutes can increase survival rates from 6% to 74%. Their ease of use, even for untrained bystanders, means that anyone can act quickly and confidently in an emergency.

Having accessible defibrillators in busy community hubs like sports clubs, schools, and workplaces can truly mean the difference between life and death.

The presentation of the defibrillator was met with tremendous gratitude from club members, coaches, and parents alike.
