HeartSave Heroes
HeartSave Heroes is PRIMEDIC's programme for recognising real life AED deployments and the people involved in them. If a PRIMEDIC AED has been used during an emergency, participants can share the event data and rescue story with PRIMEDIC and where eligible, receive programme benefits such as replacement electrodes and AED donation opportunities.

What Is HeartSave Heroes?
Every survivor's story is unique. Yet they all share one thing in common: a life was saved because someone acted quickly and used an AED.
HeartSave Heroes was created to recognise these life saving moments while helping PRIMEDIC learn from real world AED deployments. By collecting event data and rescue experiences, PRIMEDIC can continue improving its AED technology, better understand device performance in emergency situations and help raise awareness of the importance of early defibrillation and sudden cardiac arrest preparedness.
How the Programme Works
1. Submit the Event Information
Participants submit the AED event data along with details about the rescue event. This may include date and location of the incident, details about the rescue, information about the people involved etc. Event submissions must be made within 180 days of the event.
2. Event Data Review
PRIMEDIC reviews the submitted data to confirm:
- The AED deployment was a real emergency event
- The programme eligibility requirements are met
- The event qualifies under the HeartSave Heroes Program
3. Replacement Electrodes
Once the event has been reviewed and approved, a replacement set of electrodes for the deployed AED will be provided free of charge.*
This applies to qualifying real life AED deployments regardless of the rescue outcome.
4. Successful Rescue Story
Where a patient survives and fully recovers following the AED deployment, PRIMEDIC may invite the survivor and rescuers to share their story publicly. These real life stories help demonstrate the importance of AED accessibility, the impact of early CPR and defibrillation and can inspire others to act in an emergency.
5. AED Donation Opportunity
Where a patient survives and fully recovers following a successful resuscitation, PRIMEDIC donate an AED to an eligible charitable or community organisation selected by the survivor, subject to programme requirements and approval.**
Who Can Participate?
The HeartSave Heroes Program is intended for real public access AED deployments involving lay rescuers or publicly accessible AED locations such as:
Workplaces
Schools
Sports clubs
Hotels
Community organisations
Retail locations
Residential communities
Public venues
The program is designed to recognise the actions of everyday people who stepped in before emergency services arrived.
Deployments carried out by emergency medical services, firefighters, police, hospital staff or other professional first responders acting in the course of their duties are not eligible for participation. Training exercises, simulations and device testing are also excluded.
Why Your Feedback Matters
Every real life rescue data helps continue improving PRIMEDIC's AED technology devices for future emergencies.
By reviewing event data from real life rescues, PRIMEDIC can better understand device performance in emergency situations, evaluate user interaction under pressure and identify opportunities to improve usability and response support
This information plays an important role in helping PRIMEDIC continue developing AEDs that are reliable and effective when every second counts to help more people become lifesavers.
Sharing Your Story
Real rescue stories have the power to educate, inspire and raise awareness of sudden cardiac arrest.
With the appropriate permissions and consent, PRIMEDIC may use submitted stories, photographs, videos and testimonials in public awareness campaigns, educational materials, corporate communications and marketing activities.
Participation is entirely voluntary.
A Community Built Around Saving Lives
HeartSave Heroes is more than a program. It brings together survivors, rescuers and communities connected by those life changing moments.
By sharing your experience, you become part of a growing community helping to inspire the next lifesaver.
