Philips FRx Troubleshooting


Philips defibrillators work in very similar ways. Your FRx electrode pads and battery have expiry dates on them. There is a simple information button, symbolised with an 'i' that provides users will full details about the device.
Self-Tests
If the ready light is not displayed and the FRx is making a chirping noise and the 'i' button is flashing, this signals that a self-test error has occurred. Problems the defibrillator can encounter on self-tests include; the child and infant key being left in the device after use, low battery power, or a problem with the electrode pads. If the FRx's ready light is not displayed but there is no audible chirp and the 'i' button is not flashing, this could signal a problem with the battery or that the defibrillator requires a repair.
Battery Replacement
If the FRx's ready light is not displayed but there is no audible chirp and the 'i' button is not flashing, this could signal that the battery has not been installed correctly or at all, the battery life has depleted or the defibrillator requires a repair. You should insert a new battery and run a self-test again. As long as the FRx passes the self-test you can have peace of mind that your unit is ready for use.
