How does the iPAD SP1 Fully Automatic Defibrillator help guide users through the life-saving process?

The intelligent iPAD SP1 defibrillator guides users through the rescue process with calm and clear voice prompts. If CPR is not being performed, the user will be encouraged to ‘perform CPR’, and if the user is administering CPR, they will be instructed to ‘continue CPR’.

During the rescue process, instructions are provided every step of the way, and critical commands are highlighted visually on the front of the unit.  If there is a lot of background interference and the Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) environment is loud, the voice commands automatically adjust to 90 decibels. This guarantees that it can be heard, no matter where you are.

If the defibrillator is required for a child, the iPAD SP1 comes with pre-connected dual electrode pads that may be used on both adults and children. The unit may be instantly converted to the paediatric mode by sliding the switch on the front to child mode.

What are the key features of the CU Medical Systems iPAD SP1 Fully Automatic Defibrillator?

The iPAD SP1 fully-automatic defibrillator can quickly change from Adult to Child mode, and the safety cover prevents accidental switching. Adults and children use the same electrode pads with the switch, automatically lowering the joule output. The electrode pads that come with the iPAD SP1 are compatible with some NHS Ambulance Services front-line vehicles and help transfer a casualty to advanced care.

What is the purpose of the ‘i’ button in the CU Medical Systems iPAD SP1 Defibrillator?

The ‘i’ button on the iPAD SP1 defibrillator allows users to select if additional  CPR feedback is required in an emergency, otherwise, it will proceed to the metronome. It also detects device errors and provides vital information to the ambulance crew, enabling a smooth handover from essential life support to advanced life support.

The ‘i’ button allows the iPAD SP1 to be set with CPR protocols, such as compression rate, number of compressions, breaths, and cycles, to ensure that the SP1 is constantly up to date. The user can download data for analysis and check the device's software version.

Can medical professionals use the CU Medical Systems iPAD SP1 Fully Automatic Defibrillator?

Responders of all abilities can use the iPAD SP1 defibrillators, whether trained or untrained. The pads are compatible with some defibrillators carried by front-line NHS ambulances. When the medical professionals arrive, a simple plug-in adaptor saves pad changes, aiding patient care and saving valuable time and money.
