Electrode Pads are an essential to your defibrillator; we always recommend you have a second pair with your AED due to the fact they are single use. Once used, they should be disposed of, and to ensure your defib stays in working order while you wait for your replacement set, it's best practice to have another paid around during this time.
As we mentioned above, electrode pads can only be used once before they need to be replaced, so it's always a good idea to have a spare set with your defibrillator or rescue kit to ensure you're able to deliver a shock in an emergency situation.
We pride ourselves on having the cheapest prices online and guarantee to price match any like-for-like quotation you receive. To reduce your ongoing costs, we're created our very own special pad bundles; saving you money on buying 2 sets of pads rather than one!
All defibrillator pads vary in shelf life; something to keep in mind while you're shopping around. Investing in a pad bundle could be beneficial to you in the log-term, as it will reduce your long-term costs for your life-saving device.
Adult and paediatric Pads, combination pad and battery packs and SMART cartridges; all of our electrode pads are available in a bundle to save you money.
Why Else Would You Have Two Sets?
The reality is that using a defibrillator may not always be a slick task. We know what we're talking about, and we mean it when we say all of the public access defibrillators we sell as easy-to-use, foolproof and will guide you through every step of the rescue process. But whether you are trained, untrained or using a defibrillator for the very time, there can be a sense of panic.
It's important to remember to stay calm and listen to what your defib tells you to do, but even so, there can still be room for error. Dropping your pads or having anything stick to them (due to nervousness or outside conditions) can mean that the shock delivered won't be as effective; so having a spare pair will keep you safe in all events.
Another reason we suggest a second set of electrode pads is to cover every single base; cardiac arrest can happen to anyone regardless of their gender, age, lifestyle choices or fitness level. If you are in an environment where children and adults can put excessive strain on their hearts, every eventuality must be prepared for, i.e. multiple cardiac arrest incidents in the same day. As mentioned before (and something not a lot of people always take in) all electrode pads are single use, and therefore should be replaced straight after being placed on a casualty.
