A Great Day Out for defibshop.co.uk at the RenewableUK Health and Safety Conference

Renewable UK ConferenceYesterday's event at the Hilton Hotel, Manchester, was another great event for defibshop.co.uk to meet key opinion leaders and managers in the renewable energy industry and gain an insight into their opinions and perspectives on defibrillators.

Feedback from delegates was highly positive about the idea of having a defibrillator on-site at their workplace or in the construction of an energy plant. With a range of Operations Managers, HSEQ Officers, Health and Safety Managers and Site Managers present, the team felt pleased that Sudden Cardiac Arrest was recognised as a key issue by important figures in the industry.

Managing Director of defibshop.co.uk David Howarth commented that: "It was a great chance for us to understand the specific needs of renewable energy sites and organisations. We got a chance to show off and demonstrate some our products during the networking sessions, whilst the feeling we got from the Conference as a whole encouraged us that this an industry which is ready to accept that defibrillators are a necessity."

Although the Conference was important for making contacts and meeting prospective clients, it is also part of a campaign by defibshop.co.uk to disseminate the message that defibrillators are vitally important pieces of safety equipment into important industries.

The renewable energy industry is deemed particularly important in this task because of the often isolated locations of work sites which make providing quick medical attention in the event of an emergency very difficult, as well as the strenuous and high-risk work involved in construction and maintenance. Thankfully this message seems to already be having some effect, but it was still very useful to explain the key benefits, logistics and process of purchasing a defibrillator to people face-to-face.

Delegates were provided with Buyer's Guide booklets, containing a special offer leaflet, so that they could browse the wide range of defibrillators on offer from defibshop.co.uk in their own time. There were also demonstrations of the Physio Control Lifepak 1000 defibrillator on the defibshop.co.uk stand during networking sessions.
