AED includes: Non rechargable lithium battery 1 pair of adult electrode pads Carry bag with belt loop User manual Free pads if the defib is used within the first 2 years (maximum 2 sets) The FRED Easyport AED from Schiller because of its small size and light weight is intended for use by basic life support responders, healthcare professionals, such as doctors, paramedics and public service staff. At risk heart patients could carry this device for their own rescue after they and their family are trained in its use. This would dramatically reduce the response time for treating VF (Ventricular Fibrillation) and giving the patioent a better chance of survival. Because of its size this AED was selected for use by the army during their recent ascent on Mount Everest. The FRED Easyport is simple to use, it has a green on/off button, a blue button for analysis and an orange triangular button for shock delivery. The clear English accented voice prompts should be followed 1) Switch unit on (unit self tests) and apply electrodes 2) Run patient analysis 3) Deliver shock if advised to do so 4) Perform CPR The LCD displays text messages, an ECG trace, time and date, battery low indicator and electrode type. A yellow status indicator shows whether the pads are connected or not. The unit self checks when the unit is switched on. Upon pressing the shock button the AED delivers biphasic defibrillation pulses. This energy is set to a default of 90, 90 & 120 J (adult) and 15, 30, & 50 J (paediatric) The AED can deliver up to 70 shocks from its disposable, replaceable Lithium battery (5 year standby or 4 hours monitoring) The optional plug in memory card is capable of recording up to 500 events and 30 minutes of ECG.The data can be transferred to a PC or Laptop using Schillers card reader software You know you need a defibrillator(s) but you may not have considered how you are going to pay for it yet?
