The Philips / Laerdal Heartstart FR2+ Defibrillator is aimed at individuals trained in basic life support and staff trained in advanced life support. The basic version has no ECG display and no manual override

Ease of Use

Simple 1-2-3 operation with clear and concise commands with text prompts on a large back-lit dispaly guide the user through all stages of a rescue.

Upon pressing the shock button the unit delivers a truncated exponential biphasic waveform. The energy level is nominally fixed at 150 J (Adult) and 50 J (paediatric) however this will vary depending on the patient impedence.

The Heartstart FR2+ is capable of delivering a minimum of 300 shocks from its non-rechargeable lithium manganese dioxide battery.

The Heartstart FR2+ has an internal memory and optional data card to capture up to 8 hours of event and ECG data or 30 minutes of voice recording. Data can be transferred and reviewed using event review or event review express software.

The Heartstart FR2+ performs automatic daily self tests and self tests when the unit is switched on. These tests include internal circuitry, pads cartridge and battery capacity.A status indicator shows the unit has passed its last self test is ready for use.
